17th April 2012 - Plzeňský Prazdroj has launched draught Gambrinus with a fuller flavour under the name Gambrinus Original 10°. At the same time, it has introduced two new low-alcohol mixed beer drinks, Gambrinus řízný citron (Gambrinus Tangy Lemon) and Gambrinus limetka a bezinka (Gambrinus Lime and Elder Berry). In doing so, the brand has responded to the growing demand for variety among Czech consumers, and the changing preferences of Czech beer drinkers.
Gambrinus has been the standard bearer for the typical flavour of Czech beer for many years. The brand also listens carefully to what millions of its consumers want. Gambrinus Original 10° fully maintains the popular character of Pilsen-made beer, whilst offering an even fuller taste. “We currently see a preference for a fuller beer flavour among beer drinkers. This is why we decided to enhance the palate of their favourite draught Gambrinus with a higher dosage of malt and hops,” says Adriana Jahňáková, Marketing Manager, Plzeňský Prazdroj, and adds: “The name Original 10° indicates that this is a beer of Pilsen origin, brewed to the original recipes and using high quality Czech ingredients, as the case was with Gambrinus Světlý.” The Gambrinus Original 10° has been available on draught and in all popular packages since May.
In addition, the Gambrinus řízný citron (Gambrinus Tangy Lemon) and Gambrinus limetka a bezinka (Gambrinus Lime and Elder Berry) have been available at shops in half-litre cans since the beginning of April. These are mixed beer beverages with lower alcohol content. They are made by mixing draught Gambrinus with natural fruit juice. “The number of people who want to try new things and various flavours is steadily increasing. This is why we decided to introduce mixed beer drinks and address all consumers who seek pleasant refreshment, above all,” says Adriana Jahňáková. Starting in May, tin cans will be joined by half-litre returnable bottles, which are intended primarily for bars, restaurants and pubs. Native PR is in charge of communicating Gambrinus brand news.
